We already know that Nitara will show up in the Mortal Kombat movie but the character did not appear in the first red-band trailer. Luckily, we now have our first look at the video game's resident vampire and she is as terrifying as expected.

The latest teaser for the Mortal Kombat offered a brief glimpse at Nitara as she flies down and perches on a gigantic statue overlooking an arena. Screenwriter Greg Russo also tweeted a screenshot of the vampire along with a cheeky caption. Check it out below.

It's not a clear look but it does confirm that Nitara will have a different costume compared to what she usually wears in the games. Moreover, we're loving how the vampire has full use of her wings which should come in handy in the fights. Needless to say, we can't wait to see Nitara in action in the Mortal Kombat movie.

Nitara was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and has since appeared in Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. She also has cameos in Deception, Unchained, and Mortal Kombat 11. Elissa Cadwell will play the vampire in the upcoming film.

The first look at Nitara isn't the only thing we got to see in the new Mortal Kombat teaser. There is also a quick look at Mileena who now has her trademark Tarkatan teeth, which is a welcome change.

The Mortal Kombat movie is directed by Simon McQuoid. The film will premiere in selected theaters and on HBO Max on April 16.
