There is little doubt that people pay attention when hashtags trend on social media. After all, it was a hashtag that actually gave us Zack Snyder's Justice League. However, other hashtags can also cause chaos and confusion. The latest one is #RIPSebastianStan and it has Marvel fans gravely concerned about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan.
Stan has been the darling of social media since the release of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier after people fell in love all over again with Bucky Barnes. Fans were impressed with Stan's performance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series and the actor or his character would casually trend on Twitter every week.
However, a new hashtag is causing major confusion on the platform. Fans are now freaking out over #RIPSebastianStan and wondering what happened to the Avengers: Endgame star.
So what happened to Stan? He's perfectly fine but the hashtag was actually started when the paparazzi took photos of the actor dressed all in black as part of his new project. It has already been confirmed that Stan will be playing Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the docuseries Pam & Tommy.
It's a strange hashtag but it is once again proof that anything can happen on social media. We're just hoping that Stan himself isn't too worried about what the hashtag suggests.
All episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are now streaming on Disney+. Pam & Tommy has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Hulu later this year.
