Lucasfilm Prevented Gina Carano From Doing The Mandalorian Season 2 Promos

We know that Gina Carano was only fired this year but it looks like Lucasfilm already trying to silence the Deadpool actress last year. Carano has just revealed that the studio had prevented her from doing press for The Mandalorian Season 2 in 2020.

In early February, Lucasfilm confirmed that Carano was no longer employed by the studio and will not return in The Mandalorian Season 3. It has been confirmed that Carano was fired due to a recent controversial post on social media. However, she revealed that Lucasfilm wanted her to issue an apology for her Twitter bio before promoting the second season of the Star Wars show.

"Earlier on last year before The Mandalorian came out, they wanted me to use their exact wording for an apology over pronoun usage," Carano told Bari Weiss. "I declined and offered a statement in my own words."

"I made clear I wanted nothing to do with mocking the transgender community, and was just drawing attention to the abuse of the mob in forcing people to put pronouns in their bio," she continued.

Last year, Carano had edited her Twitter bio to say "beep/bop/boop" which many believed was mocking trans pronouns. It immediately led to controversy and although Carano originally refused to remove the "pronouns", she eventually changed her bio.

Carano pointed out that her decision to write her own apology led to her being excluded from all promotions for The Mandalorian Season 2. She stated that although it was "heartbreaking," she also "didn't want to take away from the hard work of everyone who worked on the project." This was why she agreed with Lucasfilm's decision and has never heard from them since then.

Interestingly, Carano confirmed that she was never contacted by Lucasfilm again and only learned that she was fired from The Mandalorian through social media.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin production soon and is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
