Loki Writer Opens up About Upcoming Star Wars Project with Kevin Feige

We haven't been hearing a lot about Kevin Feige's Star Wars project so far considering that it's cloaked in secrecy. Luckily, Loki writer Michael Waldron has broken his silence regarding the project and he's understandably psyched to be part of another major franchise.

Waldron recently spoke to Vanity Fair where he admitted that he's not allowed to talk about the Star Wars project but he's proud to be working with Feige and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

"You've heard all my references here. Star Wars! Indiana Jones! [Kathleen Kennedy], she's made so many of my favorite movies. So to get to collaborate with both of those entities is a dream come true," Waldron said.

Not surprisingly, Star Wars and Marvel have been a huge influence on the writer's life. Waldron confessed that these franchises were a big part of his childhood.

"I grew up a pro-wrestling guy, probably more of a Star Wars guy," he says, "but my love of Marvel came from the movies."

Waldron certainly is living the charmed life. In addition to being the head writer and executive producer for Loki, he was handpicked by Feige to pen the screenplay for his Star Wars project. Waldron has also signed an overall deal with Disney so there is little doubt he will be part of more major franchises in the future.

Waldron's Loki series will star Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief. The show will premiere on Disney+ on June 9, 2021.
