Loki Composer Confirmed for HBO Max's Batgirl Movie

Natalie Holt is making the big leap from Marvel to DC. The composer who worked on Disney+'s Loki series has just confirmed that she will compose new music for HBO Max's upcoming Batgirl project.

Holt herself shared the big news on Twitter. Take a look at her tweet below.

It's a huge update for Batgirl considering that there are not a lot of names attached to the project right now. So far, we only know about Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah being the co-directors and Christina Hodson writing the screenplay while Kristin Burr will produce the film. In addition to that, In The Heights star Leslie Grace has been cast as Barbara Gordon, and J.K. Simmons is expected to reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon.

Needless to say, Holt is a welcome addition to the Batgirl team. After all, her work on Loki was truly moving and we can't wait to hear more of her themes adding a strong dimension to Batgirl's story.

So when can we expect more updates on Batgirl? Although the project is clearly moving forward, there hasn't been any news on a production start date nor an official release date. Nevertheless, Warner Bros. seems to be determined for the film to begin filming before the end of the year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Batgirl has not yet been given an official production start date nor an official release date. However, the film is already expected to premiere on HBO Max by 2022.
