Kevin Feige Reveals Iron Man Deleted Scene Confirming Nick Fury Deals With Mutants

At this point, it looks like the X-Men might not be making their Marvel Cinematic Universe until at least five more years. However, it looks like Marvel Studios already had plans for mutants to join the MCU right from the start. A deleted scene from 2008's Iron Man reveals that Nick Fury knew about mutants even before the X-Men were part of the MCU.

A Brazilian Twitter fansite shared a video of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announcing the Infinity Saga boxset that will feature some never-before-seen footage from the history of the MCU. As a teaser, Feige showed an alternate post-credits scene of Fury recruiting Tony Stark to the Avengers at the end of Iron Man. Watch it below.

Did you get all that? Here's what Fury says to Tony: "As if gamma accidents, radioactive bug bites, and assorted mutants weren't enough, I have to deal with a spoiled brat, who doesn't play well with others, who wants to keep all his toys to himself."

Wow, that's a reference to The Hulk, Spider-Man, and The X-Men all rolled into one amazing line. Unfortunately, it had to be pulled so Fury ended up chiding Tony for his "I am Iron Man" line instead. You can watch the original post-credits scene below.

The reveal is an awesome look at what Feige already had planned for the future of the MCU. Luckily, it could soon be a reality now that Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox and the X-Men along with it. Perhaps Fury could still be the one to make an actual MCU reference to the mutants in an upcoming project? Let's hope it happens really soon.
