Johnny Depp's Return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Teased by Jerry Bruckheimer

People have been understandably concerned about Johnny Depp after the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star was reportedly fired from the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. But is it possible that we haven't actually seen the last of Captain Jack Sparrow? Jerry Bruckheimer may have teased on Depp returning in the highly anticipated sequel.

Bruckheimer, who is producing Pirates of the Caribbean 6, recently spoke to Collider about the sequel and he confirmed that the screenplay is still in the works.

"We're working on a draft right now and hopefully we'll get it shortly and give it to Disney and hopefully they'll like it," Bruckheimer admitted. "We don't know. We've been working on it for a little bit."

But is Depp going to be in the film? Bruckheimer's response suggested that Jack Sparrow could still appear in the sixth Pirates movie.

"The one we're developing right now, we're not sure quite what Johnny's role is going to be," Bruckheimer said. "So, we're going to have to see."

It's interesting to note that Bruckheimer's answer purported that the writers are thinking of giving Depp a role in the film. Will Jack Sparrow simply have a cameo or will he continue to be the lead character? Hopefully, we'll get an official update from Disney soon.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
