Jeremy Renner Reveals Deleted Avengers: Endgame Scene Involving Thanos On Vormir

There are probably a few things that people would like to change about Avengers: Endgame. For instance, fans might want to avoid the entire scene where Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton had to fight each other in an effort to claim the Soul Stone. However, it looks like there were different plans for the Vormir scene. Jeremy Renner has just revealed that a deleted sequence saw Black Widow and Ronin having to fight Thanos for the Stone.

Renner was recently in attendance at ACE Comic Con in Seattle where he admitted that he didn't read about the Vormir scene on the script. However, he and Scarlett Johansson did film a completely different scene on Vormir.

"It's a scene we re-shot because it was much more complicated [than the] scene that's in Endgame now," Renner shared. "There's an attack, Thanos is in some ship or something, and a bunch of weird aliens were running around and it was too complicated, so what they did is we shot the scene, still with the same kind of idea, but now we're just fighting each other to commit suicide for the Soul Stone."

Interestingly, Renner admitted that the Thanos-less scene was only shot "six months ago" and although it was simpler, that doesn't mean it was easy to film.

"It was a tough scene… for both of us," he confessed.

While it would have been cool to see Black Widow and Ronin take on Thanos and a bunch of aliens, there is little doubt that the scene that ended up in Endgame is heartbreaking. Still, we still prefer the idea of Nat and Clint coming back home safely.

Avengers: Endgame is on its second theatrical run all weekend.
