Jared Leto's Joker Says 'We Live in a Society' in Snyder Cut Trailer and People are Freaking Out

The official trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League is finally here and people were not prepared for what happens in the teaser. At the last moment, Jared Leto's Joker shows up and says "We live in a society" and netizens are freaking out.

The trailer for the Snyder Cut pretty much confirmed that the new film will be action-packed with stunning cinematography. However, it ends with what is probably the best known Joker meme in existence.

As the official logo for Zack Snyder's Justice League appears on the screen, we hear Leto's Joker saying, "We live in a society ..." The scene then shows Joker sitting on the hood of a car as he continues with, "where honor is a distant memory." Finally, he turns to his nemesis asking, "Isn't that right, Batman?"

Not surprisingly, Twitter users can't get enough of the Joker meme actually coming to life in the Snyder Cut and the term "We live in a society" has started trending on the social media platform.

The "We Live in a Society" meme stems from the Seinfeld episode The Chinese Restaurant where George Costanza patiently waits to use a payphone only for it to be grabbed by someone else. The term has been used in gamer message boards and at one point, someone tried to get Joaquin Phoenix to say it in Joker.

There is little doubt that Joker will have more significant lines in the Snyder Cut but right now, it's hilarious to think about how his only line in the trailer happens to be a meme. Nevertheless, we're looking forward to the new Justice League next month.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere on HBO Max on March 18.
