James Gunn Teases Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Production Start Date

It's been a long time since we got any updates on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, it looks like the wait is almost over. James Gunn has just teased on the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel's production start date.

Gunn continues to be one of the most active celebrities on social media and he keeps answering questions from fans. Interestingly, someone reached out to him on Twitter asking if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will begin production this year. Gunn's response is short and sweet.

Of course, that doesn't reveal exactly when the third Guardians film will begin production. However, it's possible that Gunn will immediately begin working on Vol. 3 as soon as he wraps up his current project Peacemaker.

Fans have been hoping that Gunn will begin work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 right after he wrapped up production on The Suicide Squad last year. However, the filmmaker surprised everyone by announcing that he would reunite with Suicide Squad star John Cena for the HBO Max series focusing on Cena's character.

For now, Gunn is still hard at work on Peacemaker. The series is set to finish filming by June which means Gunn would be free to work on GOTGV3 anytime from summer to the end of the year. Either way, we're happy to know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is moving forward.

The Suicide Squad will premiere in limited theaters and on HBO Max on August 6. Peacemaker has not yet been given a release date but will be available on the streaming service by January next year. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also does not have an official premiere date but stay tuned for updates on this story.
