The latest episode of What If...? was truly mindblowing as it explored the possibilities if Ultron managed to defeat the Avengers. However, there's another reason why fans are freaking out of the new episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. Interestingly, it has a lot to do with the revelation of Hawkeye's full name.
In What If ... Ultron Won?, the AI managed to defeat the Avengers after taking the Mind Stone and Vision's vibranium body. The android then went on to eradicate all life in the universe and Carol Danvers, Clint Barton, and Natasha Romanoff were the only survivors.
The remaining Avengers continue to fight back against Ultron but when Carol is killed, Clint and Nat search for a copy of Arnim Zola's consciousness. The goal is to upload it into Ultron's mind to destroy him.
It isn't easy and although they manage to get Zola into one of Ultron's drones, Clint had to sacrifice himself to allow Nat and Zola to escape. At one point, it is revealed that Hawkeye's full name is Clinton Francis 'Clint' Barton.
That's an amazing name that comic book fans are well aware of and fans just had to celebrate its revelation along with Clint's heroic act.
Clint's full name was not the only full name shared on What If ...? Episode 8. Fans were once again reminded that Captain America's name is Steven Grant Rogers.
The latest episode of What If...? is now streaming on Disney+. Clinton Francis 'Clint' Barton will return in Hawkeye, which is scheduled for release on November 24, 2021.
