Hailee Steinfeld Shuts Down Kate Bishop Casting in Hawkeye Series

There is little doubt that people are hoping that Hailee Steinfeld has finally been cast as Kate Bishop in the highly anticipated Hawkeye series. After all, the Bumblebee star seems like the perfect fit for Clint Barton's protege. However, it looks like Steinfeld herself isn't pleased with the possible casting as she finally shut down the rumors with an interesting plan for the future.

Steinfeld recently spoke to SiriusXM's Morning Mash Up where she was once again asked if there was any chance that she has been cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe show. Interestingly, the Pitch Perfect actress pointed out that playing Kate isn't in her immediate plans.

"You know, right now, I will tell you that music is where my head is at. That's what I'm focused on… that is what is occupying my brain at the moment," Steinfeld said.

It sounds like a straightforward response but people are still convinced that Steinfeld is trying to deflect the casting news for now. Some believe that she is waiting for Marvel Studios to make an official announcement about her upcoming role in the Disney+ series. In the meantime, it is best to take the casting rumors with a grain of salt.

The only star confirmed to appear in the Hawkeye series so far is Jeremy Renner, who will reprise his role as Clint. Additionally, Jonathan Igla will be the show's head writer. Although the series has not yet been given an official release date, it is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
