Gunpowder Milkshake Trailer Pits Lena Headey and Karen Gillan Against Trigger-Happy Bad Guys

It has been a long wait but now we can finally see Nebula, Cersei Lannister, Queen Ramonda, Philippa Giorgiou, and Silk Spectre working together. Well, sort of. The action-packed trailer for Gunpowder Milkshake starring Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, and Carla Gugino has just been dropped.

The trailer for Gunpowder Milkshake opens with Sam (Gillan) arriving at the library to exchange some books. However, it is revealed that the library isn't what it seems. The librarians (Bassett, Yeoh, and Gugino) offer books with guns inside as it is revealed that Sam is the daughter of Scarlett, a famed assassin.

We also get a little background info on Sam as it is confirmed that Scarlett abandoned her daughter 15 years ago. Now that Sam is getting into the business, one mission goes bad as she discovers that a little girl has been taken. After she saves the child, Sam is blacklisted by the firm, thus leading to her having to fight to survive.

Luckily, help has come as Scarlett returns to work with her daughter. Can these strange librarians figure out a way to get the firm's thugs to leave them alone?

The synopsis for Gunpowder Milkshake reads as follows:

"Sam (KAREN GILLAN) was only 12 years old when her mother Scarlet (LENA HEADEY), an elite assassin, was forced to abandon her. Sam was raised by The Firm, the ruthless crime syndicate her mother worked for. Now, 15 years later, Sam has followed in her mother's footsteps and grown into a fierce hit-woman.
"But when a high-risk job goes wrong, Sam must choose between serving The Firm and protecting the life of an innocent 8-year-old girl - Emily (CHLOE COLEMAN). With a target on her back, Sam has only one chance to survive: Reunite with her mother and her lethal associates, The Librarians (MICHELLE YEOH, ANGELA BASSETT and CARLA GUGINO).
"These three generations of women must now learn to trust each other, stand up to The Firm and their army of henchmen, and raise hell against those who could take everything from them."

Gunpowder Milkshake is directed by Navot Papushado. The film will premiere on Netflix on July 14, 2021.
