Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Slams Adam Warlock Casting Rumors

In case you missed it, a new report claims that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now looking to cast Adam Warlock and that Zac Efron is being considered for the role. But is it true that James Gunn is already preparing to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel? The director has just slammed those who are spreading the rumors.

Gunn recently shared an article that reported about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 getting ready for production and already casting its Adam Warlock. The filmmaker added a seething caption criticizing the report.

The Suicide Squad director pointed out that "there is no casting underway for Vol. 3" and asked, "in what world would I only cast a 'Caucasian' if the character has gold skin?"

"And if I wanted a Zac Efron type wouldn't I go to Zac Efron? Where do you get this nonsense?" Gunn tweeted.

It's understandable why Gunn is frustrated with the reports about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Although there are several "insiders" who claim to be getting info from Marvel Studios, it appears that the filmmaker has not started work on Vol. 3 just yet.

There are many speculations suggesting that Adam Warlock will play a larger role in the third Guardians film after the character was somehow introduced in one of the mid-credits scenes in Vol. 2. However, Gunn has never confirmed that Adam will appear in GOTGV3. Let's just hope we'll get an official update soon.

For now, Gunn is still working on the Suicide Squad spin-off series Peacemaker. The director is then expected to start working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 once the project is completed.

In the meantime, fans can expect the premiere of The Suicide Squad on August 6.
