Gotham might be going all out on its final season. New photos from the set of Season 5 strongly suggest that Harley Quinn will be making her way into the Fox series.
The show hasn't exactly been subtle with the character Ecco, who is played by Francesca Root-Dodson. Although the character is supposed to be an amalgamation of the villain Echo and Harley Quinn, Root-Dobson's recent Instagram post suggests she will transforming into Harley soon. Check out the image below.
It's certainly a different look from Mummer, Ecco's alter ego in the fifth season. Some fans believe it appears like Ecco might be going for a sexier look to seduce Jeremiah and ultimately become the real Harley Quinn. Needless to say, it looks like Ecco is channeling the Harley played by Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad.
There are also speculations that Jeremiah and Ecco will eventually end up together and become the parents of the future Harleen Quinzel. This seems like a more plausible option that would put Harley in the right timeline.
We're still unsure about what will happen to Ecco in the final season but there is little doubt that it's going to be crazy. It has already been confirmed that the series will introduce Bane and has cast Nikita star Shane West for the role. In addition to that, there are rumors that there will be a major back-breaking scene involving Sean Pertwee's Alfred Pennyworth instead of David Mazouz's young Bruce Wayne.
Gotham Season 5 will premiere on Fox on January 3, 2019.
