Good Omens 2 Star Michael Sheen Tops Fan Poll as Next Doctor Who After Jodie Whittaker

It has already been confirmed that Jodie Whittaker will be leaving Doctor Who after the upcoming 13th season. But who will take over after the Thirteenth Doctor? A new fan poll has revealed that Good Omens star Michael Sheen is the top favorite to be the Time Lord's next incarnation.

Whittaker has only played the Doctor for two seasons. She was chosen to play the Time Lord's thirteenth incarnation by new showrunner Chris Chibnall, who took over after Steven Moffat's departure.

The past two seasons of Doctor Who have been interesting but it looks like Whittaker has already had enough with the role. Several reports confirm that Whittaker and Chibnall will be leaving after the upcoming season.

Not surprisingly, this has led to Whovians wondering who will take over as the new Doctor. A poll asked people to vote for their favorite stars who could become the Time Lord's next incarnation and Sheen has emerged as the winner.

Sheen would be an interesting choice for Doctor Who. After all, the Underworld star has been working with the Tenth Doctor himself David Tennant on Good Omens. The two are set to reprise their roles in Season 2 and this could mean Sheen's schedule will be tight.

For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether Sheen is being considered as the next Doctor. However, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if he is cast in the role. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Doctor Who Season 13 will premiere in late 2021.
