In case you missed it, Tenet is still coming to theaters in early September and people are excited about finally seeing the Christopher Nolan film. However, there's one person who doesn't want fans to head for the cinemas just yet. Former Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Scott Derrickson has just warned audiences that watching Tenet in theaters isn't a good idea right now.
Derrickson took to his official Twitter account to issue a stern warning. Check it out below.
"Don't go see Tenet or any other movie in a theater. There, I said it," Derrickson tweeted. He then followed up with a subtweet, "speaking to my fellow Americans of course."
But why is the filmmaker dissuading people from seeing Tenet? It probably has nothing to do with what he thinks about the Robert Pattinson movie. Instead, the filmmaker just wants moviegoers to stay safe considering that there are still rising COVID-19 cases in the US. With that in mind, going to the cinema is not a good idea since movie theaters are one of the most likely places you could catch the virus.
Although Derrickson and most people are still thinking twice about heading for the cinemas, it looks like Warner Bros. is determined to release Tenet despite all the risks involved. The studio has just released the final trailer for the film which confirms that it's getting a theatrical release in two weeks.
Tenet is scheduled for release on September 4.
