Fear The Walking Dead Production Officially Shut Down Due to COVID-19, Says Lennie James

It looks like even zombies can fight against the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). Lennie James has just confirmed that production on Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 has been put on hold due to the pandemic.

James confirmed the news while speaking to Lorraine to promote his new series Save Me Too. Interestingly, the sixth season was only supposed to take a short break from filming but this has been extended due to COVID-19.

"I'm filming in Austin. I'm here for seven months of the year and have been here for the past three years," James said. "Almost all productions are shutting down. We were supposed to be on a break for a week this week, that week has turned into a month."

Interestingly, James also offered an update on the situation down in Austin.

"So we're shut down for a month and self-isolating like almost everybody is, really. Different versions of it," he said. "Austin has had two confirmed cases and no deaths, so we're in that situation. But we're also in a situation where there are very few tests available for the population. So we're in a slight area of unknown, along with everybody else, really."

It's no surprise that production on the series has been shut down. After all, almost every other production has been required to take a break in an effort to self-isolate everyone. However, we're hoping that films and TV shows can immediately resume filming soon.

The sixth season of Fear The Walking Dead has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
