Ewan McGregor Confirms Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Production Start Date

There is little doubt that people are already hyped up about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series although there haven't been many updates about the upcoming Star Wars series. However, it looks like we won't have to wait too long for the Disney+ show. Ewan McGregor has just confirmed that he will start filming for his new project in the first half of 2021.

McGregor was recently a guest on the Graham Norton show where the host asked him about his upcoming Star Wars series. Interestingly, the Birds of Prey actor didn't reveal too much about what will happen to Obi-Wan but admitted he's ready to start working on the show.

"We start shooting it in March next year," McGregor confirmed. He also admitted that he is excited about reprising his role as Obi-Wan now that the character's story arc is now closer to the late Alec Guinness' version of the Jedi Master.

"The fun thing about doing them in the first place, when I was much younger, was trying to imagine Alec Guinness and how he would play these streams as a younger guy," McGregor said, confessing that he studied Guinness' other works to prepare for the prequel trilogy.

"It led me to watch a lot of his early work, which I hadn't seen before. Brilliant movies, wonderful films he'd been in and I just had such a great time studying him in those movies," McGregor said. "This time, I will be much closer in age to him and it will be my challenge to sort of meet him somewhere. It's a great honor to try and pretend to be him."

This could be the reason why fans are so excited about the Obi-Wan series. Needless to say, we can't wait to see more of McGregor in the Star Wars show.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
