Dune Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed


Dune has just had its non-entry world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and the reviews are in! Critics have shared their thoughts on Denis Villeneuve's epic adaptation of Frank Herbert's masterpiece and the movie's Rotten Tomatoes score has just been revealed.

So is Dune Certified Fresh or Rotten? The critics have interesting things to say about the first film of the planned sci-fi franchise.

The first reactions to Dune were dropped yesterday right after its world premiere in Vienna as lucky attendees shared their initial thoughts about the movie. Today, the official reviews are in and it's clear that everyone is blown away by Villeneuve's cinematic masterpiece.

The Los Angeles Times review reads, "Villeneuve draws you into an astonishingly vivid, sometimes plausibly unnerving vision of the future."

Entertainment Weekly states that "If you're already knee-deep in Herbert mythology, you'll thrill to every whispered word; if you come in not knowing the difference between a Holtzman shield and a hole in the floor, it's a longer walk."

USA Today notes that "Even with its imperfections, Dune as an experience is awesome, with astounding special effects, great production design and a propulsive Hans Zimmer score."

So what's the score on Dune? Rotten Tomatoes has confirmed that Dune is Certified Fresh at an astounding 83% on the Tomatometer. The score is based on 23 reviews and there is a possibility that it will change on the movie is officially released in October.

We're not exactly surprised that people are blown away by Dune. Villeneuve has already proven his cinematic prowess and he displays it yet again with the adaptation. With that in mind, we can't wait to enjoy Dune in the cinemas.

Dune: Part One stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem. The film will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
