We're now a little less than a month away from the premiere of Dune and it looks like we're finally getting more footage from the highly anticipated Denis Villeneuve film. The international trailer that's being released in China features a scene where Paul Atreides gets his first encounter with a sandworm.
The new trailer was released just a few days after it was confirmed that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have secured a Chinese release date for Dune. Not surprisingly, the teaser has a ton of new footage and the first thing we see is how the spice is harvested from the sprawling desert of Arrakis.
The trailer opens with a confirmation of the spice's importance. "Without spice, interstellar travel is impossible. Making it by far the most valuable substance in the universe," the voiceover declares. As all this is being said, Paul is on a ship with his father Duke Leto Atreides, and Gurney Halleck watching over a spice harvest.
Things get understandably tense as there is a disturbance coming toward the spice farm. "Is that a worm?" someone asks as huge amounts of sand suddenly sink into what appears to be a bottomless pit.
That's not the only awesome new footage in the Dune Chinese trailer. We also get to see an interesting moment between Paul and Leto as well as another closer look at the terrifying Baron Harkonnen. There's a longer version of Paul's vision of Chani where he actually fights someone and is wounded. Lastly, we get to see Paul speaking to the Fremen, asking them for help.
We're loving this new trailer and hopefully, a few more teasers will be released with never-before-seen footage. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The film is scheduled for release in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
