Doctor Who: Christopher Eccleston Starts Recording for Ninth Doctor Adventures

In case you missed it, Christopher Eccleston has finally agreed to return as the Ninth Doctor for a series of new audio adventures. Now, the Thor: The Dark World star has confirmed that he has started recording for the upcoming Doctor Who audio series and even teased some spoilers.

Eccleston recently posted a photo on his official Instagram account. The image is a simple selfie but it also shows the former Doctor Who actor with his script. Check it out below.

Not surprisingly, fans were loving the selfie and immediately got hyped up for the series. Someone even pointed out that the script itself says that the actors are not allowed to share photos of it or the recording but Eccleston was clearly feeling rebellious at the time.

Eccleston's return was first confirmed back in August. "After 15 years it will be exciting to revisit the Ninth Doctor's world, bringing back to life a character I love playing," Eccleston said in a statement.

For now, it is unclear what the Ninth Doctor's adventures will be about. However, fans can rest assured that Eccleston will be recording 12 full-cast audio adventures that will be released next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The first volume of the Ninth Doctor's audio box sets is currently available for pre-order on the Big Finish website and will be released in May 2021.
