Doctor Strange 2 Will Bring Scarlet Witch Into The Multiverse Of Madness

It's official: Doctor Strange 2 is happening and it's ... a horror film? The new details have been revealed at Marvel's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Amazingly, Stephen Strange is getting some interesting company in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

The official logo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (yes, seriously) has been revealed at SDCC 2019. Check it out below.

The sequel is bringing back Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme with Scott Derrickson returning to direct. However, it looks like Dr Strange is getting some interesting new company in Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen.

It's still unclear just what will happen in The Multiverse of Madness but the sequel is set to bring Stephen and Wanda Maximoff into the mysterious world of dark magic. Is it a horror movie? Maybe, and that's not so bad considering that there are two extremely powerful sorcerers here. It might be time to break the multiverse open.

Olsen is certainly a busy lady. She is also confirmed to star alongside Paul Bettany in the Disney+ series WandaVision, which is set to premiere on the streaming service in Spring 2021.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (who came up with this title, anyway?) is currently scheduled for release on May 7, 2021.

The Marvel panel at SDCC continues to churn out some major announcements about the Phase 4 movies. Stay tuned for more updates on these stories.
