The wait for Frozen 2 might not be as long as previously expected. Disney has just decided to move the sequel to an earlier release date.

According to Deadline, Disney has moved Frozen 2 up to premiere a week before Thanksgiving Eve next year. This means that the sequel will hit theaters on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.

It's an interesting move for Disney considering that the first film holds the record as having the best Thanksgiving 5-day opener of all time. There is a possibility that the House of Mouse wants to make sure that Frozen 2 doesn't have much competition on the new release date.

Interestingly, the only competition for the animated flick is an untitled 20th Century Fox film. Since the Fox/Disney merger might already be in effect by then, there is a possibility that the Marvel movie will be moved to a new date.

The sequel will bring back Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff, respectively. They will be joined by Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood and Black Panther actor Sterling K. Brown. Wood and Brown's roles have not yet been disclosed.

The film's new storyline is still a mystery. However, there are speculations that Elsa will be getting a female love interest in the sequel. Some believe that Wood's character might Elsa's possible new friend. Needless to say, this is only based on theory so it's best to take the information with a grain of salt.

Frozen 2 is scheduled for release on November 22, 2019.
