There is little doubt that the latest episode of Star Trek: Picard was one of the most powerful episodes in the entire franchise. After all, it's not every day that we get to see Jean-Luc Picard struggling with fear as he dealt with the trauma of being part of the Borg. But did The Impossible Box also tease at an important character's possible death?

In Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Episode 6, Picard and his crew head off to the Borg Cube in an attempt to extract Soji Asha without too much drama. However, drama is exactly what everyone has on their plate right now as Agnes Jurati tries to hide the fact that she was responsible for Bruce Maddox's murder and Raffi Musiker continues to struggle with being rejected by her son. On top of all that, Picard had to face the trauma of being one with the Borg.

Luckily, there are a few characters here who are ready to help. There's Hugh, who tries to soothe Picard by pointing out that not all of his memories of the Borg are bad. Additionally, Elnor is once again prepared to defend Picard. But will this also lead to their downfall?

The episode concludes with Hugh and Elnor staying behind in the Borg Cube so Picard and Soji could escape. Naturally, this situation doesn't rest well with fans who are greatly concerned that Elnor might not be able to fight off the Borg. In addition to that, Hugh could get into trouble for helping Picard in the first place.

So could this be the end for both characters? The preview for Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Episode 7 suggests they are ready to put up a fight. Nevertheless, we are rooting for Hugh and Elnor in hopes we'll see them all the way to the end of the series.

The latest episode of Star Trek: Picard is titled The Impossible Box and is currently streaming on CBS All Access.
