Did Aquaman 2 Working Title Already Reveal The Lost Kingdom Premise?

In case you missed it, the official title for Aquaman 2 has finally been revealed by director James Wan. It's an exciting revelation for fans who are now wondering what Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be about. But is it possible that the sequel's working title has already revealed its premise?

Wan has recently shared a photo announcing a production meeting for Aquaman 2 that also revealed the movie's official title. It's a cool reveal and a new mystery for fans who are now wondering about the "Lost Kingdom."

So is Aquaman 2 still going to be Atlantis? We pretty much already know about Atlantis and other underwater kingdoms, thanks for the first movie. Although Atlantis is still a place that Dr. Stephen Shin is looking for, it's probably not the subject of the second movie.

But what is The Lost Kingdom about? The truth may have already been revealed in the film's working title. It was previously reported that Aquaman 2's working title is Necrus, which is also known as the Black City.

Unlike Atlantis, the city is something of a myth since it is only visible for a brief period and is said to never appear in the same location twice. Necrus is also ruled by the tyrannical Mongo, who would make for an interesting villain in the sequel.

For now, it's still unconfirmed whether the film is about Necrus. However, the truth can be revealed very soon.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is expected to begin production this month. The sequel is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022.
