There is little doubt that Demon Slayer has been dominating the world as both manga and anime have been selling more copies. Amazingly, Kimetsu no Yaiba is doing so well that it has even demolished a record that was once held by Dragon Ball.
The Demon Slayer manga has been selling more copies ever since more people have discovered the anime and decided to catch up on the franchise. Not surprisingly, the interest has led to impressive sales of the manga's volumes published on Weekly Shonen Jump.
But can it outsell even Dragon Ball? A ranking of the Shonen Jump series confirmed that Demon Slayer has taken the top spot for the number of copies sold per volume.
According to the ranking, Kimetsu no Yaiba has sold 6.52 copies per volume both in Japan and internationally. Dragon Ball initially took the top spot with 6.19 copies per volume internationally and 4.29 copies per volume in Japan.
This isn't the first time that Demon Slayer has overtaken Dragon Ball. It was recently reported that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train had surpassed Dragon Ball Super: Broly's US box office record. Last month, Demon Slayer took in $34 million beating Broly's $31 million earnings and becoming the third highest-grossing anime film in the U.S.
There is little doubt that Demon Slayer will continue to impress fans in the future. The second season of the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime is expected to drop later this year and is already expected to bring in even more fans.
