Cowboy Bebop Star Daniella Pineda Compares Netflix Show to Star Wars

We all have certain expectations of the live-action Cowboy Bebop series. Not surprisingly, the cast of the Netflix show know about that and have the best way to hype up their upcoming project. For instance, Daniella Pineda has compared Cowboy Bebop to Star Wars.

Pineda and her co-stars John Cho and Mustafa Shakir had previously taken part in a three-way interview for Netflix's TUDUM event. During their conversation, she pointed out that Cowboy Bebop isn't like anything people have seen before.

"From what we've seen thus far, there is nothing we can compare our show to," Pineda said. "Maybe Kill Bill and Star Wars and that is really exciting."

That's an interesting comparison considering that some people have compared the anime's lead Spike Spiegel to Star Wars' Han Solo. However, Pineda's point might have to do with the awesome space adventures of the Bebop crew.

She also pointed out that the live-action series has a lot to offer for fans of the original anime.

"There's so many Easter Eggs in this show. So pay very close attention because every little thing matters," Pineda said.

We haven't seen the trailer for Cowboy Bebop yet but the opening sequence for the series certainly confirmed what Pineda said. The opening credits sequence is a faithful homage to the anime's original sequence.

Cowboy Bebop will also star Alex Hassell as Vicious, and Elena Satine as Julia. The supporting cast includes Tamara Tunie, Mason Alexander Park, Jan Uddin, Lydia Peckham, Adrienne Barbeau, Rodney Cook, Ira Munn, Lucy Currey, Josh Randall, Geoff Stults, Rachel House, Ann Truong, and Hoa Xuande.

The live-action Cowboy Bebop series will premiere on Netflix on November 19, 2021.
