Christian Bale's Mystery Thor: Love and Thunder Character Could Introduce Greek Gods into the MCU

There is little doubt that fans are already excited about Thor: Love and Thunder now that it has been confirmed that Christian Bale is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. But which Marvel character is the Academy Award winner playing highly anticipated sequel? There are speculations that Bale's villain will finally introduce the Greek gods into the MCU.

It's not hard to imagine Bale as just about any major Marvel villain. After all, the Batman Begins star has already proven he could take on just about any role possible. On the other hand, Marvel Studios are most likely to use his talent for a truly worthy cause and that could be to introduce new gods into the MCU now that most of the Asgardians are dead.

A report from Screenrant points out that Bale might play Ares, the god of war who has been depicted as an anti-hero in the comic books. This sounds like a great fit for the Ford Vs Ferrari star and would be an interesting way to bring in new characters into the films. However, it is important to point out that Bale's role in Love and Thunder has not yet been revealed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Tessa Thompson had previously confirmed that Bale will play the main villain in the fourth Thor film. She also revealed that she has already read the script and has been calling co-star Natalie Portman on a regular basis.

Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
