We already know that Captain Marvel 2 is coming. However, a lot of details about the sequel have not yet been revealed. Luckily, we now know the official title for Carol Danvers' next movie and it's a very fitting name: The Marvels.
The title reveal was featured in the new video dropped by Marvel Studios. The sizzle reel highlights some of the most memorable scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe then drops amazing updates on the upcoming Phase 4 films.
The video shows off new footage from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals. In addition to that, it unveils the official title for Captain Marvel 2.
There's a good reason why Captain Marvel 2 will be called The Marvels. After all, the upcoming MCU sequel will feature the other Captain Marvels Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. Needless to say, this is going to be a team-up we can't miss.
Monica, who is played by Teyonah Parris, first appeared in WandaVision where she gained her powers. Kamala will be played by Iman Vellani and she is set to debut in her own Disney+ series Ms Marvel. With that in mind, the other Marvels have already been introduced before they team up with Brie Larson's character in Captain Marvel 2.
The Marvels will be directed by Nia da Costa and will serve as the official sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel. The film is expected to begin production soon and is currently scheduled for release on November 11, 2022.
