Black Adam Producer Reveals When Dwayne Johnson Film will Begin Production

There's a good reason why people are hyped up for Black Adam. In addition to Noah Centineo being confirmed to play Atom Smasher, the DC Extended Universe flick will introduce the Justice Society of America. But when exactly can we expect the film to begin production? Producer Hiram Garcia has just revealed that Dwayne Johnson is set to start filming the comic book movie really soon.

Garcia recently spoke to Variety where he admitted that he and business partner Johnson have always wanted to do a comic book film.

"This is the giddy fanboy inside me and DJ. We are so excited to be in the superhero space," Garcia said. "We have been dreaming of doing a movie like this for ages, so to be able to partner up with DC and to really put ourselves into the DC Universe in a big way with the ambitions that we have, we are so, so, so excited."

Interestingly, Garcia didn't play coy when asked when Black Adam will begin production. "We're going to start filming sometime in the first quarter of next year," he revealed. That means that we could be getting updates about the DCEU flick before April 2021.

So far, only Johnson and Centineo have been confirmed to be part of the cast. In the meantime, it looks like Black Adam is looking to cast the Justice Society of America which will include Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Cyclone. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Black Adam is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021.
