Batwoman Star Ruby Rose Exits CW Series After Season 2 Renewal

It looks like Ruby Rose has decided to hang up her cowl. The Batwoman star has confirmed that she is leaving the CW series after just one season.

Rose made the announcement through a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter.

"I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season," Rose said in the statement. "This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles. I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created."

The former Orange is the New Black actress also expressed her gratitude to the Warner Bros. team.

"Thank you Peter Roth and Mark Pedowitz and the teams at Warner Bros. and the CW who put so much into the show and always believed in me. Thank you to everyone who made season one a success—I am truly grateful," Rose concluded.

Rose did not reveal the reason behind her decision. However, there are speculations that the actress chose to depart from the series after sustaining several injuries throughout filming for the first season, one of which required a painful neck surgery.

It has not yet been revealed who will take over in the role of Kate Kane but the network is already planning to recast the titular character. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
