Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art Reveals A More Sinister Ebony Maw

Ebony Maw's appearance in Avengers: Infinity War was certainly subject to a few jokes, especially from Tony Stark. However, the recently revealed concept art for the villain suggests that the Black Order member was supposed to have a scarier look.

The concept art was shared by artist Jerad S. Marantz, who worked on the character design for Ebony Maw. Interestingly, the most talkative member of Thanos' Black Order initially looked like he didn't need words to strike fear into our hearts. Take a look at Marantz's posts below.

Marantz's take on Ebony Maw clearly called for a tighter suit and a shorter haircut. In addition to that, the baddie has disturbing silver eyes that seem to look straight into your soul. Although the concept art is amazing, we're glad that Infinity War decided to make the character less terrifying.

Ebony Maw is undoubtedly the one member of the Black Order who got to interact with most of the Avengers. In Infinity War, he was sent to take the Time Stone from Doctor Strange and ended up being called Squidward by Tony before engaging in an epic fight in New York. Maw was eventually defeated and somehow made it possible for Tony, Stephen Strange, and Spider-Man to meet with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

It's highly unlikely that Ebony Maw will turn up again in any of the future Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks. Nevertheless, actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor still hopes to play the villain again sometime in the future.
