Aquaman Animated Series King of Atlantis Drops First Hilarious Teaser

Fans who have been missing out on some Aquaman content are in for a treat. HBO Max has confirmed a new animated mini-series Aquaman: King of Atlantis with an awesome first teaser. Perhaps the coolest thing about it is that it's produced by Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom director James Wan.

The teaser features a green-haired Aquaman taking on the throne of Atlantis along with Mera and Vulko. However, it doesn't look like the new king isn't quite ready for his job (or just his tricky throne).

The animated show certainly looks a little different from the live-action movie. After all, it's a kid-friendly feature that gives the character the more whimsical feel from the comic books. However, it still has a cool connection to the DC Extended Universe version of the character considering that it's produced by Wan.

It's great to finally see a teaser for the new animated series. After all, it was originally announced back in January 2020 and has been delayed for some time now. Although updates have been rare, we're loving the new teaser confirming its official release date.

The official synopsis for King of Atlantis reads as follows:

"It's the undersea adventure of a lifetime! The fate of Aquaman's people, his home, and the entire world is in the hands (trident?) of the new King of Atlantis. With monstrous creatures, devious foes, and epic battles, get ready for this super-powered special event."

The new mini-series is produced by DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and Atomic Monster Productions. The voice cast includes Cooper Andrews as Aquaman, Gillian Jacobs as Mera, Thomas Lennon as Vulko, and Dana Snyder as Ocean Master.

Aquaman: King of Atlantis - Chapter 1 will premiere on HBO Max on October 14, 2021.
