Aquaman 2 Reveals New Cast Members, Adds Unexpected Green Lantern Villain

It looks like Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be adding some interesting new characters next year. The highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe sequel has confirmed three new actors as well as the return of another character.

The Hollywood Reporter had previously confirmed that Aquaman 2 will be adding Vincent Regan, Jani Zhao, and Indya Moore to its already stellar cast. In addition to that, Randall Park has been confirmed to return as Dr. Stephen Shin in the sequel.

Regan will play Atlan, the legendary King of Atlantis who was originally portrayed by Graham McTavish in the first movie. The character is expected to appear in flashbacks in the film.

Zhao was cast as Stingray, a new character who was created for the sequel. It is unclear if the mysterious new character will be a villain or an ally to Aquaman.

The coolest casting update is Moore's character. It was confirmed that the Pose star will portray Karshon, a villain who actually goes up against Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the comic books. The casting already has fans wondering if Aquaman 2 will introduce Hal into the DCEU.

It is unclear if Moore's version of Karshon will be one of the main villains in Aquaman 2 but it would be interesting to see another shark creature in the DCEU. Fans who have watched The Suicide Squad already fell in love with King Shark and Karshon could be an interesting addition to the DCEU.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom also stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The sequel is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022.
