Agents of SHIELD Removed From MCU Continuity by Disney+

There is little doubt that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of the most entertaining shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to featuring characters who have previously debuted in MCU movies, the episodes have always been wild and action-packed.

But has Marvel Studios decided that the series is no longer canon? Disney+ has reportedly removed Agents of SHIELD from MCU continuity.

The Direct reports that Agents of SHIELD has been moved to the Marvel Legacy Movies and Series category on Disney+. This category had previously only featured non-MCU flicks like the Fantastic Four films and the X-Men franchise.

Interestingly, the change is only available in selected regions so fans in the US will not see Agents of SHIELD in this category. However, there is a possibility that this will be updated before the end of May.

So does this mean that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is officially non-canon? Amazingly, it isn't the only series that is no longer part of the MCU. ABC-produced shows like Agent Carter, Runaways, and the ill-fated Inhumans have also been moved to the Marvel Legacy category.

We're not sure why Disney+ has decided to make the big change. However, there is a possibility that the streaming giant only considers Marvel Studios-produced movies and shows as MCU. Unfortunately, this could mean that all these amazing shows are non-canon for now.

Do you agree that Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Runaways, and Inhumans should not be considered canon? Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
