Adventure Time Spin-Off Starring Fionna and Cake Confirmed by HBO Max

Adventure Time is coming back but this time, the new series will focus on two fan favorites. HBO Max has just confirmed a new spin-off show that will follow the adventures of Fionna and Cake.

Variety reports that the new half-hour series is titled Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. The animated show will consist of 10 episodes and also feature the former Ice King Simon Petrikov as well as a powerful new antagonist who wants to track down the gender-swapped duo and put a stop to their adventures.

The characters were first introduced in Adventure Time Season 3 Episode 9 titled Fionna and Cake. In the episode, Ice King forces Finn and Jake to listen to his gender-swapped fanfiction of them where the female version of Finn goes on a date with the male version of Princess Bubblegum named Prince Gumball. They also go up against the female version of the Ice King (Ice Queen, obviously) voiced by Grey DeLisle.

It has not yet been confirmed whether actors Madeleine Martin and Roz Ryan will return as the voices of Fionna and Cake, respectively. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to seeing new stories in the Adventure Time Universe.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake has not yet been given an official release date. However, the new series is set to premiere on HBO Max. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
