Wanna Be The Very Best? Niantic Details Pokemon GO PVP Battles

Pokemon GO is finally adding PVP later this month, so now everyone with a mobile phone can try to be the very best that no one ever was. Catching them might be a real test but training them is your cause if you want to get good for these multiplayer battles. Fans have been waiting for this feature since the game was announced and the fact that early gameplay trailers teased this mechanic didn't help matters when the game didn't have it.

After finally announcing the new feature, Niantic has decided to detail some of the features that will be a part of the PVP system. Called Trainer Battles, players will be able to challenge others by using a Battle Code and preparing a three-Pokemon team. It doesn't matter if you win or lose because both participants will get great rewards and possibly evolution items.

In order to ensure an even playing field, Trainers must compete in the same Trainer Battle League, which determines the CP limit for the participating Pokémon. Unlike the usual Pokemon games, battles will actually be in real-time and fast-paced, so players will have to be on their toes.

Your selected team of Pokémon will be able to execute both their Fast Attack and Charged Attack moves. In preparation for battle, you'll even be able to use Stardust and Candy to unlock a bonus Charged Attack for your Pokémon.

Pokemon GO is available now. No release date for these Trainer Battles has been revealed.
