The Coronavirus has been merciless, infecting pretty much anyone that it gets into contact with and has resulted in lockdown for many countries. Because of people not getting out of their houses, a number of big movies have been delayed until the virus subsides, from Mulan to Black Widow, and even Wonder Woman 1984. Despite this pandemic, it seems like Sony is pretty confident that the virus will subside by October since they are still planning to release Venom 2 that month.

Deadline confirmed that the Venom sequel is still slated for an October release and that a trailer could come out as early as this week, which is pretty surprising. What's more of a surprise is that Sony is confident about releasing the movie in October when films like Mulan and Black Widow could easily overtake it in that spot. Then again, the first film made a ton of money and has plenty of fans so people could still want to see this sequel.

Admittedly, even with all of its flaws, there are plenty of reasons to be excited for Venom 2. Not only is Tom Hardy reprising his role as Eddie Brock/Venom but Andy Serkis will be directing the sequel this time. Woody Harrelson will also play a bigger role this time as the film's antagonist Carnage and that should be an epic battle.

Currently, Venom 2 is expected to hit theaters on October 2.
