The Original Avengers Assemble for Stan Lee Tribute

Now that Stan Lee is gone, everyone is dreading the day when we won't see him in a cute little cameo on a Marvel movie. He managed to film several cameos before passing away, with many of us thinking that Avengers 4 is going to be the final time we see Lee on-screen. We wouldn't have a Marvel Cinematic Universe without Stan Lee and all of the MCU actors realize this.

In an issue of The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of The Avengers - Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth - posted a message via a full-page ad in the magazine. It's a pretty simple message, stating that they acknowledge all of his creative contributions to the MCU, and sometimes that's all you need to do.

Considering how Lee created The Avengers with Jack Kirby, it's safe to say that these actors owe a lot to this blockbuster creative team. Sure, some would argue that the first Avengers movie has since been outclassed by films like Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it did lay down the groundwork for future crossovers.

All of the characters these actors portrayed managed to make it out alive at the end of Infinity War but it seems like their time is coming to an end. With Evans leaving the MCU after Avengers 4 and the futures of everyone else still up in the air, aside from Johansson's, we can probably expect a death or two.

Avengers 4 comes to theaters on May 3, 2019.
