The Last of Us Part II is Getting a Media Event on September 24

The Last of Us Part II has had fans buzzing ever since its first trailer came out, while the second one blew everyone away with its gameplay. Unfortunately, aside from the fact that it's going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, we still don't know the game's release date or most of its story details, aside from Ellie being the lead.

Well, it looks like we're finally going to get more details about the sequel since gaming personality Geoff Keighly has announced a The Last of Us Part II media event that will take place later this month, on September 24. Calling it a "media event" is a bit weird but this will likely detail some of the burning questions we have for this game like its eventual release date.

My heart is hoping for late 2019 but my brain feels like it's meant for an early 2020 release.

Naughty Dog announcing a The Last of Us Part II release date would warrant a media event, so it would be weird if they just showed off some gameplay. Granted, we would like to see more of the game and know if Joel will be playable or remain a supporting character but those questions can be answered after a release date is revealed.

Sorry if I sound like a brat but this sequel has been getting us hyped for years and we really need to know when it will be coming out. Chances are, this will be one of the last big Sony PS4 exclusives before the company announces the inevitable PlayStation 5. At least that will be playing PS4 games.

The Last of Us Part II has no firm release date. The Last of Us can now be played on PS3 and PS4.
