Thanos Creator Bashes Trump for Using Avengers: Endgame Footage in Presidential Campaign

Donald Trump triggered a lot of Marvel fans by airing a presidential ad that compares him to Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and has him snap all the Democrats away. This obviously ruffled a lot of feathers with the left and Marvel fans in general, with Thanos creator and Infinity Gauntlet writer Jim Starlin, in particular, hating the ad for a number of reasons and it's not just because they use his creation in it, though that is part of the problem.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Starlin said that he was mortified to see the president of the United States of America compare himself to a murderer of galactic proportions. It's easy to see why since Trump is the leader of the supposed free world and is supposed to represent the best values of that country but it's really hard to be surprised by his behavior these days.

Here's Starlin's full response:

"After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer. How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end."

Whether Trump is re-elected or not is up to fate but we'll see what happens. In the meantime, fans can only hope that their president stops comparing himself to a purple-skinned murderer.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Disney+ and Blu-ray.
