Taika Waititi Debunks Reports of Thor: Love and Thunder's Finished Screenplay

Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the most anticipated movies coming from Marvel Studios, thanks to the inclusion of Jane Foster's Thor (Jane FosThor). The fact that Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi is returning also has fans happy since he directed the best Thor movie ever, so there's a lot to like with this sequel. Waititi is known for writing and directing his films, with a number of reports claiming that the director has finished the screenplay for this Marvel flick.

Well, on Twitter, Waititi has debunked those reports, feigning surprise that the screenplay was reportedly finished. Considering how swamped he is with projects right now, like JoJo Rabbit and Next Goal Wins, we're not expecting him to finish anytime soon. Plus, the movie's not out till 2021 and filming will likely begin in 2020, so the man has time to work on it.

Fans are really interested to see how Waititi handles Love and Thunder since we want to see how Jane becomes Thor and if it results in male-Thor becoming unworthy of Mjolnir like in the comics. We'll also get to see Valkyrie become the LGBTQ character she was always meant to be and fans are already speculating on who her queen will be (Jamie Alexander's Sif please).

As a fan of Jason Aaron's Thor run, I can't wait to see how some of his stories are presented in the MCU. There's so much to unpack and wonder about with FosThor and we don't even know who the villain will be. Thankfully, Thor has a lot of great villains to choose from and we're sure Waititi will handle them like a pro.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes out on November 5, 2021.
