Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time got another nice gameplay showcase during yesterday’s State of Play, showing more of the game’s amazing visuals and new mechanics. While it was mostly just a neat look at a game we all knew was coming out, there was one major shocker revealed about Crash 4; Dingodile will now be playable.

That’s right, the cool-looking villain you easily defeated back in Crash Bandicoot: Warped is now someone players can use. Dingodile was always a fan-favorite villain thanks to his cool design and great voice work but no one expected to ever see him playable in a new Crash Bandicoot game.

We briefly see some Dingodile gameplay, where he uses a spinning tail attack for melee combat and, what appears to be, a really big vacuum cleaner. Sure, we wish his nifty flamethrower was usable but he can use the vacuum cleaner to suck in boxes and to hover in the air for a short amount of time so that’s actually pretty damn cool.

Seeing this villain playable for the first time was a joy and we’re curious to see if more classic Crash Bandicoot enemies will join him. Neo Cortex was already revealed earlier but we would love to see someone like Tiny Tiger or Doctor N. Gin join those ranks. Only time (HA) will tell us but we won’t have to wait too much longer for the game, at least.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on October 2.
