Netflix Prefers Milk Over Tea, Announces Cuphead Animated Series

Cuphead is one of the most beautiful games out right now for the Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The developers at Studio MDHR managed to make a shooter with sprites that looked like they came from an early Disney/Merry Melodies short. Considering how great the game looks, fans are probably wondering why it doesn't have an animated series yet.

Problem solved! Netflix has announced that they will be producing an animated series based on the video game, called The Cuphead Show. Sorry, The Cuphead Show also Starring Mugman.

During an interview with IGN, Cuphead co-creator Chad Moldenhauer confirmed that the series would have a 1930's-style visual look similar to the game and said everything would be hand drawn. However, Moldenhauer did state that they would be drawn digitally and not on paper, even joking and calling it "tradigitally."

Cuphead co-creator Jared Moldenhauer also stated that the series would be safe for kids but would have the dark undertones that the game clearly showed on-screen. If we're honest, the cartoons back in the day had themes very similar to Cuphead so this isn't Studio MDHR or Netflix just being adult for the sake of being edgy.

No release date for the series has been revealed and we probably won't see it right away. Studio MDHR confirmed that it's still early in the process of production but we can't wait and see what The Cuphead Show has in store for us.
