Marvel Announces New Silver Surfer Comic With Donnie Cates and Tradd Moore

The Silver Surfer is often considered to be one of Marvel's most classic characters and was a favorite of the late-great Stan Lee. Co-created with Jack Kirby during a stellar Fantastic Four run, the Surfer is often there when important events happen throughout the Marvel universe and have been in a number of great comics, including a critically acclaimed run from Dan Slott and Michael Allred.

According to Marvel.com, we will be getting a new mini-series focused on the Surfer called Silver Surfer: Black from Venom writer Donnie Cates and All-New Ghost Rider artist Tradd Moore. It's one hell of a creative team and we can only assume that fans of the character and Cates are going to have a great time with this series.

Set after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy #1, where a number of cosmic heroes were sucked into The Black Order's black hole, this will apparently be a culmination of everything that Cates has written since his Thanos run. It will be interesting to see how Surfer is used in this story, especially since he is also in the black hole.

With Moore on the visuals, this will definitely be a pretty comic book. Anyone who has seen his art on All-New Ghost Rider or The Luther Strange trilogy from Image Comics knows that they are in for a treat. Plus, Cates is Marvel's most beloved writer right now and it seems like he can do no wrong.
