Luke Skywalker Didn't Actually Have Much Jedi Training

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens first came out, many criticized the way Rey was able to wield The Force with ease, with some even calling the character a "mary sue," which is a term used for characters that don't have to earn their advantages. This is despite the fact that Star Wars is a universe where Anakin Skywalker can be conceived without sex and people can use mystical powers based on how good they are but whatever.

Those Star Wars fans might be shocked to know that Luke Skywalker, who many see as the best Jedi ever, didn't have much training either. If we go by the continuity set in the Marvel Comics and the mainline movies, you'll see that Luke only ever really trained as a Jedi proper with Yoda, using The Force and his mediocre lightsaber skills to get past basic enemies.

Plus, his Yoda training only lasts for a few days if we're taking the events of The Empire Strikes Back into consideration. Luke even leaves his Jedi training early to try and save his friends, which he barely does.

Yes, we know fans say Luke's journey is still better than Rey's and his movies are a bit better but acting if you dislike how she became a Jedi but are fully accepting of Luke's way to become one, something is wrong with you. They're more alike than you think so maybe try and think a bit logically about them.

All of the Star Wars movies can currently be streamed on Disney+ and are available on Blu-Ray.
