Gamers are about to enter a sanctuary of Disney and Square Enix fanservice in a few months, as Kingdom Hearts 3 is slated for January 29, 2019. Fans have been wanting to play this game since 2005 so those rewarded for their patience will get what's coming to them early next year. To celebrate, Square Enix has released a new trailer detailing one of the previously announced worlds; Tangled.
The world will be called Kingdom of Corona and will take players through an abridged version of the Tangled story. In the trailer, fans can see Rapunzel get out of the tower and join her future husband Flynn on an adventure. Unlike the Disney film, however, they will be joined by Sora, Donald, and Goofy, along with a number of Heartless that will be making their lives difficult.
Both Flynn and Rapunzel will be able to defend themselves and take on Heartless, as part of the game's improved combat system. Players will no longer have to exchange Donald or Goofy for temporary teammates as Kingdom Hearts 3 will allow all of the participants to take part in the battle. Sora also gets to show off some of his new tricks, which are clearly influenced by some of Disney's theme park rides.
Aside from Tangled, other confirmed Disney worlds thus far include Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Hercules, just to name a few. We haven't seen any Final Fantasy characters yet, though we can confirm the returns of Riku, Aqua, King Mickey, Lee (formerly Axel), Kairi, and a number of Organization XIII members.
