Japan Releases Its Longest Commercial Ever for Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII Remake is being treated by Square Enix and Sony as a cultural milestone, which is kind of true. This game was the first JRPG and Final Fantasy entry for many, often cited as the best game in the franchise, or, at the least, one of the best installments. There's a reason why this installment is the one getting a remake and Japan has released a seven-minute commercial to hype up the remake coming out next year.

This Final Fantasy VII Remake commercial is the longest in Japanese history, showing that Square Enix is willing to spend a lot of money to get this game in people's minds. Depending on how you feel, it could work since the commercial's story is basically how someone missed out on it back in the day and he will be able to rectify that fact when the remake comes out next year.

It's a bit manipulative, telling fans that they missed out on something great all those years ago, but that's just how marketing works. Still, the fact that Japan and Square Enix sort of broke a record just to advertise this remake shows that they know how important this game is.

With dazzling graphics, an action-packed combat system, and the reinvention of some silly mini-games, it seems like Final Fantasy VII Remake will be the game many fans have been asking for since the PS3 days. There are fans who wish it would be complete since the game only covers Cloud's adventure in Midgar but Square Enix has promised that it will feel like a complete JRPG.

Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on PS4 on March 3, 2020.
