James Wan Confirms That 'Aquaman' Won't Have a Director's Cut

Aquaman was a smash hit when it came out, literally making a billion dollars and even restoring the faith many lost with DC movies. Due to the movie's success, we're all hoping that Shazam lives up to that movie and continues the momentum from that film. With a sequel likely coming in the near future, fans have been curious about the movie getting some sort of director's cut.

Well, that doesn't appear to be the case, as director James Wan confirmed on Twitter that the movie will not be getting one. Apparently, Wan is happy with the way the film turned out and feels that some kind of extra cut isn't needed. This is nice to hear since many felt that DC movies needed extended cuts to be better, especially with the sudden love for the Ultimate Edition of Batman V Superman.

The movie is pretty straightforward with its plot so it's not like anything needs to be re-worked on or expanded upon. Some would argue that Arthur could have argued for the sea life more since his brother claims that people inland kill these animals but the Atlanteans aren't much better, using them as vehicles and weapons for war.

Fans can expect to see Black Manta in a much bigger role in the sequel since he was kind of an afterthought in the first movie. Rumors have also suggested that The Others will make their film debut in the sequel.

Aquaman is coming to Blu-Ray on March 26.
